Por que fazemos ensaios?

Numa entrevista, a fotógrafa Claudia Regina afirmou a seguinte frase: “Vejo a fotografia como um meio pra conseguir fazer o trabalho de formiguinha de mexer com a auto-estima das pessoas … Quero fazer a diferença na vida das pessoas de forma individual, e a fotografia é a melhor maneira que encontrei pra fazer isso … Enquanto a gente luta pra mudar o mundo fazendo protestos, escrevendo textos e falando sobre feminismo, a gente quer mudar o macro, mas devemos é começar amando-se a si mesma, amando o próprio corpo. Então, esse é o meu trabalho: fotografar mulheres que se gostam.” (TITON, 2013).
Acreditamos muito nessa ideia de realizar ensaios para poder aumentar a autoestima das pessoas. Mas não só. Por sermos nativos, fazemos dos nossos ensaios uma ponte de conexão entre as culturas afrodescendentes e as suas origens. Nossos ensaios permitem à pessoas sentirem aquela alegria que sentimos todos os dias quando usamos roupas africanas nos nossos países. Eles oferecem a possibilidade de ter um contato direto com o nosso continente através de roupas.
